LESSON 4: UILLEANN PIPE G AND METRONOMES
Watch the video below to learn to play G on the Uilleann Pipes and then try the exercise below. Take your time and double check to make sure you are playing the note correctly before moving on to the next lesson.
You will notice that almost all of my lessons use a metronome. This is extremely important, if you don't have one buy one now. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Metronomes are the key to learning correctly and will raise your awareness of how well your doing.
Below is the metronome I reccommend, it's less than $20 and also comes with a tuner which will be helpful later on in your lessons. You can also download one on your smart phones if you prefer. There are many free and cheap metronomes available for phones.

G Exercise 1
Close the chanter holes in between each note and try to make sure your bottom index and middle finger come down at the same time. If you hear a squeaky sound it probably means your not completely covering and uncovering all the holes.
Always take your time with these exercises no matter how hard or easy they seem and make sure your not picking up any bad habits.
