LESSON 6: UILLEANN PIPE E & HALF NOTE
Watch the video below to learn to play E on the Uilleann Pipes and then try the exercises below. Take your time and double check to make sure you are playing each note correctly before moving on to the next lesson.
Things to Remember:
E Exercise 1
Close the chanter holes in between each note and try to make sure your bottom index and middle finger come down at the same time. If you hear a squeaky sound it probably means your not completely covering and uncovering all the holes.
G-F#-E and Half Note Exercise 1
Close the chanter holes in between each of the notes. The last note is a half note and is held twice as long as the quarter notes.
Make sure to take your time with this last exercise it's quite a bit harder than the others, so do it a couple times before moving on to next lesson and make sure you understand how long half notes are held.
