Ode to Joy
Dawn of the Day
This is the first Irish song you will learn and was also the first Irish song I learned. It's a beautiful lament and is sometimes even played as a march. Go to Youtube and listen to some of the beautiful arrangements of this tune and get inspired.
Well done... after learning these tunes you should finally feel like your getting somewhere. In the next couple lessons you will learn to play the second octave and cuts. The second octave will have the same fingering as the first octave you will just need to push the bag a little harder to hit the high notes. Also, this is the last exercise or tune you will see with the note names written below the notes. It may sound scary but you will soon realize you don't need them.
